Where are you located and where do we meet for the tour?
Our main meeting location is at our office, Blackcomb Snowmobiles, on the lobby level of the Hilton Whistler Resort. We also pick-up from many major hotels in Whistler Village including The Fairmont Chateau, Four Seasons Resort, Legends Creekside and Nita Lake Lodge. Please choose the appropriate location when booking.

What should we wear?
Wear your snowsuit, including Winter ski jacket/pants, warm waterproof gloves and snow boots. If you have ski goggles you can also bring them. If you are missing any pieces or do not have the proper attire, we will supply you with any gear you may need at no extra charge.

How many people on a sled?
There is a maximum of 2 adults and 1 small child per sled (age minimum 3 years old)

How many dogs will be on my team?
Depending on the snow pack and sled weight we generally run 6-8 dogs per sled.

Can we bring treats for the dogs?
We have treats at the trail for the dogs, just ask if you wish to feed your team.

Can we pet the dogs?
Absolutely! They would be offended if you didn’t!

Do the dogs enjoy pulling the sled?
All you have to do is watch the hook up and the excitement that the dogs show by lunging and barking to know they love what they were born and bred for generations to do.

Do I get to drive the sled aka “mush”?
Absolutely, participation is key and strongly encouraged. Jump on the back and learn the commands or just sit back and relax in the sled.

Are there any health restrictions?
Adventure sport activities, including dog sledding, is not recommended for individuals who suffer from back pain, neck pain, or if they have a history of heart or respiratory distress. Consult your physician prior to participation.

I’m pregnant, can I participate in the dog sledding?
Safety regulations require that we do not permit pregnant women to ride with us. All mother’s to be are welcome on our Snow Cat Dinner Tours.

Is there a maximum weight for the dog sled?
The ideal weight for a smooth ride is maximum 350lbs. Please keep this in mind when organizing sleds with 2 larger people or 2 adults and a child.

How much distance will we cover?
On the average 2.5 hour tour you will spend 45-55 minutes on the trail. Depending on the snow pack and running conditions the dogs usually cover 6km, Whistler’s longest dog sled trail!

Release of Liability and Waiver Form
It is mandatory for all tour participants to sign a Release of Liability and Waiver Form. Any participant under the age of 19 must have a parent or guardian sign on their behalf.

What is the cancellation policy?
Tours are non refundable within 24 hours of tour departure. Groups on 10 or more require 72 hour notification of cancellation. Group cancellation with out 72 hours will be non-refundable. Blackcomb Snowmobiles Ltd. reserves the right to cancel tours due to inclement weather, foreseeable hazards, insufficient bookings or events beyond our control. Full refunds will be made or alternate dates will be offered in these unlikely events.
